Little Orphan Prays for Mom to Come for Him, I will Take You, He Hears One Day
In a quiet church, a small orphaned boy named Alan tearfully begged God to bring his mother back to him. Desperate and heartbroken, he pleaded, “Please, Jesus, let me see my mommy. My life would be so different if she were here.”
Alan was only six and had known nothing but the sadness of a childhood without a mother. His earnest prayers echoed through the church, drawing the attention of his guardian, Nancy, who gently tried to comfort him. But Alan was inconsolable. He gazed at the crucifix, his cheeks stained with tears, longing for the mother he’d never known.
“Jesus, please,” he whispered, watching as a woman entered with her young daughter. His sobs grew louder. “I just want my mommy. Why won’t you answer me?”
Nancy tried to hush him, but just then, a soft voice broke through his cries. “I’ll take you,” a woman said from behind, her voice gentle and familiar. Alan and Nancy turned around to see the woman with the little girl.
“Alan, my boy! I’ve come for you. I’ve come to take you home,” the woman said, her eyes welling up with tears.
Startled, Nancy held Alan close. “Who are you? How do you know his name?”
The woman introduced herself as Annette and explained that she was, in fact, Alan’s mother. She shared a picture of herself with a newborn Alan to prove her claim. Nancy was stunned; she remembered finding the baby boy left at the shelter’s doorstep six years ago. But why had this woman abandoned him?
With a heavy heart, Annette revealed her story. She had been only sixteen when she became pregnant. Her boyfriend left her, and her parents, horrified by the scandal, pressured her to leave the baby behind. Feeling trapped and too young to be a mother, she made the painful choice to abandon Alan, though it had haunted her every day since.
Annette later married another man, Jason, and had a daughter, Amy, but her guilt over Alan never faded. She’d frequently visit the church to catch glimpses of him from afar, wanting to ensure he was safe. But hearing him cry for her that day broke her heart beyond repair.
Determined to reunite with her son, Annette began the long process of gaining custody. DNA tests confirmed her claim, and she brought Alan home at last. But her decision had its costs. Her parents disowned her, and her husband, Jason, couldn’t accept Alan. He filed for divorce, saying he’d support their daughter but wanted nothing to do with Alan.
Despite the heartbreak, Annette stood firm. She moved abroad with Alan and Amy, embracing her role as their mother and building a new life. She secured a good job, and though she lost her parents’ approval and her marriage, she found peace in reuniting with Alan and creating a happy home for both her children.
In the end, Annette realized she didn’t need anyone’s validation. She had her two children, and for the first time, she felt whole.
