CCTV recently reported that during the China FAW Innovation Achievement Reporting Exhibition held last week, the auto group exhibited a variety of new technological achievements to the public.
Among them is a high-power dynamic wireless charging road system based on 5G and autonomous driving technology, which was recently unveiled at the Innovation Base of China FAW Research and Development Institute.
The biggest feature of this road system developed by China FAW is that it allows electric vehicles to be charged synchronously and in real time while driving.
In the official introduction video, a self-driving electric car drives smoothly on a specially marked internal road, while the dashboard inside the car shows that the vehicle is being charged.
China FAW explained that the dynamic wireless charging road system allows electric vehicles to be charged wirelessly while walking, completely solving the trouble of traditional electric vehicles needing to be parked and charged.
This is the first dynamic wireless charging road system based on 5G and autonomous driving. Its 30kW high-power wireless charging module is developed and produced by Yougan Technology, and supports cascade expansion.
The test road section at the Innovation Base of China FAW R&D Institute is 120 meters long. The electric energy that electric vehicles can supplement after driving on it is about 1.3 kilometers of endurance.
However, the road system can wirelessly charge multiple electric vehicles at the same time.
